One year ago today we welcomed A Faith G into the world. I have seen in my family how a name can be much deeper and meaningful than just being that which you are called. It can remind you of a family member that you were named after, a scripture verse or a beautiful memory. For us, A's middle name was picked for a deliberate purpose. Other than the fact that I just happen to really love the name, the meaning to us was powerful. Faith. A constant reminder for R, myself and especially A of what faith in Jesus can do in ones life. A, however, has expanded the meaning of her name. Recently she has taken to this "game" of being in someone's arms and then without any notice throws herself upside down causing whoever is holding her to grab her so that she doesn't fall over and smack herself hard on the wood floors. She usually lingers for a few seconds and pops right back into your arms upright with a big smile (and sometimes a nice hardy laugh). Isn't that exactly what faith is? Abandoning all cares, worries, fears, hurts and simply and unapologetically throwing yourself into whatever God has in store for you with a pure and childlike trust knowing that He is holding you and will pull you up when things seemingly are upside down to show you right side up.
On June 11, 2009 A Faith G was welcomed into this world and has given R and I the ride of a life time. She is a beautiful, fearless, giggly, snuggle bunny with the childlike faith that R and I strive towards. We love you A Faith! We pray you will always have faith like a child!

Happy Birthday, A!! We ALL love you!!
