Happy Birthday my sweet love bug! Lets just get right to it and say that although you have always had mommy and daddy's hearts you have gone out into the world this year and captivated many hearts along the way.
Preschool. You my dear started preschool this year and have loved every single second of it. It's the first time that you and I have been apart for that long everyday and by golly while I miss you like crazy cakes you are out there doing your thing. From the first week of school the teachers were in awe at how easily you were able to make friends with all the girls that had spent the prior year in school together. They describe you as loving, magnetic, sweet, kind and inviting. And while you are all those things you also learned that not all little girls treat others all that kind. You didn't gel into their mold. Instead, all on your own, you distanced yourself and found best buds that treat others as kind and respectful as you try to do. You've had oodles of playdates this year with your new and old friends!
And then there is your BFF...your sister. The two of you can play many things but what you play most frequently is when you both let your imaginations take over and dive into a world that daddy and I are in awe of. The two of you create adventures and stories with just about anything around. Your fingers, a string, toilet paper roll, a bag, scissors. All these random objects come to life and the two of you go wild.
And not one day is complete without you talking about your brother. Your love for him continues to grow despite the distance between us and him. You ask about him often and tell me what you're going to play together when he comes home. Today you said you had a dream that daddy and I were going to get him and you and your teacher were jumping up and down and cheering with excitement. It is heart breaking that you have to endure this wait with us my sweet M. I'm so thankful for your loving heart and pray for the day when your dreams become a reality.
Miss M this year for the first time ever you went through a season when you flew the nest from being a mommy's girl and let daddy take the reigns in that department. It stung a bit. I mean I had 4 years of constant snuggles and cuddles with you and in an instant you were all about daddy. While you did eventually come back to being my little snuggle bug you and daddy definitely have a stronger bound then before. Every single day without fail you finish your breakfast and dinner and then squeeze your way in between daddy and me at the table. You then climb on daddy along with your sister and laugh and laugh.
