Family Fun Weekend

After working MANY hours the past couple of weeks we decided it was time for R to take a day off and have an extended family filled weekend. On Friday we went to the park where A loved swinging on the swings. Then on Saturday we went to a Nature Center near by that has a farm and nature trails. A loved pointing to the animals and either saying their name (duck, fish, horsey, birdie) or the sound they make but by far her favorite part was pointing to the water buckets that were out for the animals to drink from and repeat "wawa" over and over again. :)

After the celebration

After a weekend away with not much sleep I was expecting A to be a bit more tired today. As I usually do, I put A in her highchair in front of the TV to watch some Baby Einstein while I went to shower. Usually while I'm getting ready for the day I can hear A giggling or talking to the TV but today I heard heavy breathing. I went downstairs and found a VERY sleepy A taking a nap in her highchair. For a child who almost NEVER sleeps anywhere but her crib this was a true sign of a fun weekend that completely wore her out!

Four Birthday celebrations turns into one fun weekend getaway

It just so happens that between the end of July and beginning of September our family has four kids birthdays so instead of having four separate celebrations we decided to combine them all for one big Birthday bash in NYC. We started the day off at 10am with cupcakes (it's never too early for cupcakes, right?!?!) and gifts followed by some photo ops on my brother's patio (which happens to be the roof of a condo building in Manhattan) and on to the Central Park Zoo.

Hmmm.... Cousin T left the rest of his cupcake to go play. I don't think he'll mind if I take some of his...

R was holding A while they both observed the water. A started pointing and saying turkle turkle upon which R realized there were turtles in the water. Our smart little girl!!

Happy Birthday T, T, P and W!! We love you!

No A on my hip for FOUR DAYS??!!

This past week I spent the longest time BY FAR away from A while I traveled to Florida for a MOPS International Convention. I had an amazing time and as you can see from these pictures A did as well as she got pampered by her Grandpa and Grandma and of course her Daddy!

R took A to the beach/park several times. As you can see, R loves A with her natural fro of hair. Can't forget her cool shades!

Playing catch with her daddy. She may just be the first female Yankee player. I mean two balls at once...don't see many players that talented these days. :)

R and A took a trip to the aquarium. Here are some jelly fish they saw on their daddy daughter date.

Swinging at the Park.

Grandma and Grandpa took A to the Nature Center that has lots of animals. Here A is admiring the pigs.

I couldn't go to Florida without a stop at Cinderella's Castle.

It was a great time for me to get away but boy is it good to be home!!!
